1. What CCTV cameras or IP cameras are supported with NU Surveillance 360 software?
1) Our software supports any brand of CCTV camera when used with a Motion JPEG video server.
2) Our software supports any brand of IP video camera with Motion JPEG compression
* For 360 degree compatibility, all cameras must have a removable C /CS mount lens. Permanent mounted lens are not compatible for use of our special de-warping technology.
2. Can a Personal Computer, or Laptop computer be used with NU Surveillance 360 software suites?
Yes, our software is compatible with any Windows® based PC or Laptop computer, based on our minimum system specifications. However, for a dedicated, fully integrated solution, we recommend using one of our NDVR with system onboard.
3. Do I need special training to operate NU Surveillance 360 software suites?
No, our software is small and easy to install. Our Quick Start manual is enough to get any operator familiar with all of our most common functions.
4. Is an Internet connection required for operation and normal use?
No, an internet connection is only needed for remote monitoring operations via the internet. For normal monitoring, a local LAN, with standard 10/100 or 100/1000 gigabit connection can is sufficient for surveillance and monitoring.
5. Can an external storage unit or NAS be used to record surveillance video with NU Surveillance 360?
Yes, NU Surveillance 360 does support external hard drive or NAS recording.
6. Does NU Surveillance 360 software suite support 3rd party fisheye or panoramic lenses?
Yes, third party suppliers of fisheye, panoramic mirror (Convex, Concave), or PAL lenses are supported.
*Quality of the lens is not guaranteed by NU Surveillance Technologies. For guaranteed seamless integration and superior quality that has been tested, we recommend using NU Surveillance Technologies branded lens.
7. What are the storage requirements for storing IP surveillance video?
NU Surveillance 360 storage requirements are determined by the resolution of camera video, recording time, and whether motion detection is used when recording. Generally, for a single channel 1.3 mega-pixel (1280 X 1024) recording for 12 hours with minimum compression, you will need a minimum of 100 gig hard drive, which will store 2 weeks of video.
8. Is a dedicated IP necessary for use with NU Surveillance 360?
a) If the desired monitoring solution is based on a local LAN setup, then a dedicated IP via your internet provider is not necessary.
b) If remote monitoring setup (via internet), then there are two options.
OPTION 1: Use a dynamic IP and sign up for any third party dedicated IP service i.e. (DNS-2-go) and port your local IP from your router.
